A New Start
After a longer time of pause in our web blog activities, now we come back.
Rooyesh Cultural Society's board of directors had a meeting in August 20,2009 and everyone agreed to get Rooyesh a new fresh start from this Fall.
We will have a month of summer break until September 20 of 2009, while we will prepare for a new type of cultural programs with variety and fun involved.
We call our next workshop as “peace and Love” event, as we continue celebrate the international peace day
We want to admit that since our celebration for Rooyesh in April, we have been keeping low in order to make some fundamental changes in our programs.
One significant event that impacted our programs was the Iran situation since June 12, 2009. The tragic events in our home country truly shocked us and left us paralyzed. This was a major reason for no update on our blog while our every other Friday meetings have occurred, although maybe with some lower number of people attending.
Now gladly we will announce that from September 2009, we will have entertainment, poetry, and music involved in our twice in a month seminars while we will use a wide range of guest speakers in areas of literature, art, and philosophy.
We look forward for all suggestions, feedback, and contacts. We are hoping to get new members and fund raise during this fall.

Our Community Meeting on May 1, 2009
In our May 1 st meeting we had the chance to listen to Mrs Bahareh Mashreghi who is a lawyer and practicing law in a general area. Our members had the opportunity to learn about some legal aspects of ICBC claims, Family sponsorships, Family separation, and Custody support. We appreciate Mrs Mashreghi coming to our meeting and giving us such important information.

Rooyesh Community Meeting April 17, 2009
Our community workshop had a quest speaker Mr. Karamati who talked about the financial crisis in the world and here in the North America. We also had Stacey from the Canadian Cancer Society and she informed us of the Persian Women’s Health Breakfast. We let the group know about our first official presentation of the Society which will be announced in the media. This event will be in May 9, 09 and we will have live Persian music, dance, and many moments of appreciation for everyone who has supported Rooyesh to be the place for community growth as it is now. Please join us and check for the detailed info about our meetings / festivities.

Celebration of Nouroz
March 27, 2009 was the time for celebrating Nouroz. The Rooyesh cultural Society was successful in creating moments for all of us to appreciate this significant, ancient, and earth-connected event.
A large group of us gathered to enjoy listening to the lovely music and socializing while tasting all the good food everyone brought. Special thanks to Mina for all the hard work, dedication, and preparation. I believe all the children who attended this gathering and receiving gifts of love and appreciation, will remember how much we can be happier with one another. So will the rest of us. Thanks
